The original series of Crossroads was the inspiration for many pieces of merchandise, ranging from the “normal” books and jigsaws – to the plain ridiculous meat dish. Crossroads 2001 however only had one piece of official merchandise and that was “The Crossroads Story” – a book on the history of the series with a chapter at the end reserved for the “all new Crossroads from ITV”. Publisher: Carlton Books Limited ISBN: 1 84222 391 7 Theme: "The official guide to Crossroads past and present, including the all new Crossroads from ITV" Original Price: £14.99 |

OUR ORIGINAL REVIEW OF THE BOOK |

As ITV were celebrating the relaunch of Crossroads, there were many viewers unaware of the programme's previous history. The book goes a long way to introducing readers to the glorious, and maybe not quite so glorious days of one of Britain's greatest ever soaps. As a fan of Crossroads since I was able to sit in front of the TV I remembered many of the 1980's storylines quite clearly. The book had a wealth of photographs, and enough facts to keep even me occupied for several hours. There is a great sense of optimism about the launch of Crossroads 2001, and the book provides images, behind the scenes information and a brief history of the journey to reviving a TV legend. Some fans have criticised one or two factual errors in the book, but it is still an enjoyable read and a MUST for anyone interested in Crossroads 2001.
