Lionel had just finished filming a pilot programme with comedian Alan Carr when they heard a man was trying to jump from the North Pier. CROSSROADS DVD DELAYED AGAIN? (05-05-06)
Speculation is mounting that the eagerly awaited third volume of Crossroads episodes has been temporarily delayed by production company “Network”. This follows the recent news that Network had been in touch with CAS regarding the selection of appropriate episodes. We will keep you posted.

ANOTHER LENTON LANE SHOW SET FOR REVIVAL? (13-04-06)
Although the Lenton Lane studio complex was renamed the King’s Meadow Campus by the University of Nottingham exactly one year ago, traces of its past glories appear to be returning to the television network…
The success of “Family Fortunes” on Ant and Dec’s Gameshow Marathon prompted news of a revival fronted by Vernon Kay. We are also promised the delights of Bullseye on Challenge TV with new host Dave Spikey. Now we hear that “Supermarket Sweep” is set for a revival with Dale Winton himself.
It is sad that shows originally proudly made in the Midlands now have to be filmed in London, Leeds or Manchester as the facilities to produce them have been sold off.
I wonder if Granada fancy a stab at “Crossroads”…..?

CROSSROADS SLOT A RATINGS GRAVEYARD (05-04-06)
It may have come as a shock to ITV executives, but the 5pm slot continues to be something of a graveyard slot as far as ratings are concerned. Crossroads managed a respectable 3 million at 5pm in August 2002, but was taken off air for the ill-fated 2003 revamp. The channel did eventually achieve just over 3 million for the Paul O’Grady Show in early 2006 but celebrations were cut short with Paul’s so-called “defection” to Channel 4.
O’Grady has steadily built his audience on 4, who seem to have traveled with him to the new channel while ITV has struggled to find a suitable ratings winning alternative. A recent repeat of Poirot managed only 552,700 viewers (a 4.1% share). The Broadcast Now site reported this as their “worst performance in that slot for at least five years.”
CINDY JOINS THE FORUM (29-03-06)
Yet again proving that the stars of Crossroads are just as loyal as the many fans, Cindy Marshall-Day alias Tracey Booth has agreed to become the honorary patron of the Network forum. She joins Tony Adams as the patron of this very site and Jane Rossington who is the patron of the official Crossroads Appreciation Society (alongside creator Peter Ling).
We would all like to thank Cindy for agreeing to become the patron and welcome her warmly to the world of Crossroads fandom.
ALL QUIET ON THE DVD FRONT (23-03-06)
As yet there is still no news on the possible release of a third volume of Crossroads episodes on DVD. Rumours surfaced last month that stockists could expect the release as early as April 24th, although internet retailers and even Network DVD’s own site are still not carrying any further details.
CROSSROADS STAR’S DOG STOLEN (20-02-06)
The dancer Lionel Blair has told how he has been reduced to tears by the suspected theft of his beloved dog Florence from Nonsuch Park. The 10-year-old crossbreed collie disappeared on Wednesday last week while walking with Mr Blair's wife, Sue, in the Warren Farm area of the beauty spot. Nonsuch Park has been the site of several reported dog thefts, raising fears that Florence may be a victim of the growing trend of dog-napping.
CROSSROADS SLOT LEFT VACANT BY PAUL O’GRADY (04-02-05)
ITV are yet to decide on what to do with the 5pm slot left vacant by Paul O’Grady’s defection to Channel 4. The current programme “Richard Hammond’s 5 o’clock Show” is due to end shortly - to be replaced from February 13th by half an hour of “You’ve been framed” followed by a spin-off from hit Saturday show “Dancing on Ice” Both of these are expected as “stop-gap” measures until a replacement programme is found. Many suspect that the eventual programme will be very similar in style to O’Grady’s show – which with 3 million viewers was seen as a ratings success. Ironically, the magic 3 million figure recently reached by O’Grady is level to the audiences watching Crossroads at the end of August 2002 when it was rested.
VOLUME THREE ORIGINAL SERIES DVD ON THE WAY! (29-01-06)
Rumour has it that the eagerly awaited third volume of Crossroads episodes is set for release in April. There has been no news from Network since their last release in August but a recent post on the Crossroads Network Forum suggests that stockists have been told to expect the release during the second quarter of the year.
Possible episodes for inclusion on the release could see the continuation of Adam and Jill’s wedding from 1983. Their honeymoon in Venice featured the last appearance of Noele Gordon as Meg Mortimer. With “the fire” featuring on Volume II it is possible that Meg’s departure aboard the QE2 could make yet another appearance although this is all speculation. We will (of course) keep you posted!

VOTE FOR CROSSROADS! (13-05-05)
ITV are asking for your opinion to choose the greatest programmes from their 50 year history. The original series ofCrossroads has long been recognised as one of TV’s greatest soaps – so it came as quite a shock when it was left out of the “Top 50” programmes eligible for a place on ITV’s voting page.
However, all is not lost – you can STILL vote for Crossroads by entering the details in the text box at the bottom of the voting page. You will (of course) need to vote for 5 other programmes – which will leave Crossroads at a bit of a disadvantage – but it still gives Crossroads fans a chance to show their appreciation – for whichever version you prefer…

The former site is to be named the King’s Meadow Campus, apparently inspired by the adjacent King’s Meadow Nature Reserve, which runs by the side of the River Leen, just to the north of the new campus – although who knows - perhaps King’s Oak had something to do with it as well!
